Good Friday Activity Afternoon 2019

What a busy afternoon we had! Twenty one children came to our afternoon of activities, all based around Good Friday and Easter. Activities included cross necklaces, hand print crosses, scratch art, framed woollen crosses, fridge magnets, Holy Week colouring, card making, biscuit icing and the construction of individual Easter gardens – to name just a few. In fact lots of gluing and sticking, painting and colouring and finger licking of icing!

Do have a look in the corridor at the ‘He is Risen’ frieze made from tissue paper. We practised, and for some, learnt the song ‘Oh, Oh, Oh,’ which we then sang in Church on Easter Day.  It was lovely to have some visiting children join us for the afternoon.

We finished the afternoon by going into Church to sing and then listen to and watch the accompanying slides of the Easter story.

I would like to thank all the many helpers who came and help set up beforehand and then sit at the tables helping with the activities. We could not have managed without you.  Many thanks also to Joan Winterbottom for keeping us supplied with drinks and hot cross buns.

It was a lovely afternoon and was enjoyed by children and helpers alike.
